So we are here in Tybee and enjoying ourselves sily. Elden is loving having Daddy around 24/7. He hardly wants anything to do with mom, except when he's hurt or tired. It's all about the Daddy right now. Poor Jason, can't go a few steps without Elden grabbing him around the knees and holding tight.
I think he's enjoying the attention though. He's made mention of the facts that for the last 20 months Elden has really been mama's boy and Dad has always been second rate entertainment. That has pretty much changed in the last month or so. He's discovered how much fun Dad is. He gives whirliebirds, he builds great castles out of blocks or sand or tupperware, and he makes monster faces and noises. What great fun. My two men are adorable together. Elden climbs on Jason and Jason hugs and kisses Elden. It is really sweet.
Elden has been a little hesistant about the beach. He likes the sand, but the water scares him a little. He doesn't like it at all when either of us go out in the ocean. He cries if we get out past our waist. I guess he is worried we are going to get sucked out?
He's enjoyed digging in the giant sandbox and chasing birds, especially the curious little sandpipers. They are very bold. They will get within inches of Elden if they think he might have some crumbs.
The condo is fantastic. Spacious and comfortable. It is less than a blok from the beach and is also near the small strip of shops and bars on Tybee. It is really quiet here since its the beginning of the off season. The first few days were extremely quiet, and the weekend has seen more action since it is some kind of Harly rally here this weekend. Even so, it is pretty laid back. Just a perfect vacation for the three of us. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Beautiful setting, peaceful, and great weather.
Working on getting some pictures up, we'll have to see how little man's nap goes!
